Prevention & everyday care
Professional Dental Cleanings
Cleanings and exams help us care for your child’s teeth and follow their developing smile. We remove plaque and buildup, check the teeth, gums, and bite, and share practical brushing and flossing guidance. The timing of future visits is based on your child’s needs.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays help Dr. Nik see between teeth, assess developing teeth, and investigate concerns below the gumline. We recommend images when they can help guide care, based on your child’s history, examination, and risk of dental disease—not automatically at every visit.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are thin protective coatings placed over the grooves of back teeth, where a toothbrush can have difficulty reaching. They help keep food and cavity-causing bacteria out. Dr. Nik can recommend the right timing and check sealants at future visits, alongside regular brushing and flossing.
Oral Cancer Screenings
During an examination, we also check the lips, tongue, gums, and other tissues for unusual changes. Oral cancer is uncommon in children, but a persistent sore or patch still deserves attention. Let us know about changes you’ve noticed so we can evaluate them and discuss any further care.
Nutritional Counseling
Everyday food and drink choices affect dental health. We help families plan tooth-friendly routines, from school snacks to drinks between meals, while considering age, preferences, and feeding challenges. Our guidance focuses on balanced meals and less frequent exposure to sugary foods and drinks.
Oral Habits
We help families build brushing and flossing routines that work at home. Bring us questions about thumb sucking, pacifiers, grinding, or changes in your child’s bite. Dr. Nik can explain what he sees and discuss age-appropriate support when it is needed.
A clear plan for their care.

Repair & appearance
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver diamine fluoride, or SDF, is a liquid treatment that can help stop certain areas of tooth decay from progressing. It may be an option when a child is not ready for a traditional filling.
SDF permanently darkens treated decay. We discuss the appearance, alternatives, and any follow-up care before recommending it.
Tooth-Colored Restorations
A tooth-colored restoration can rebuild a tooth affected by decay or damage while blending with the surrounding tooth. Dr. Nik explains the recommended material, comfort options, and what to expect afterward. The treatment plan is based on the tooth and your child’s individual needs.
ICON Resin Infiltration
ICON resin infiltration can reduce the appearance of suitable white spots by allowing a fluid resin to enter porous enamel. Dr. Nik first evaluates the cause and depth of the discoloration. Results vary, so we discuss the expected improvement and alternatives before recommending treatment.
Comfort starts with connection.

Comfort & protection
Pediatric Sedation Dentistry
Comfort begins with preparation and getting to know your child. When additional support is appropriate, we offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. Recommendations depend on medical history, the planned treatment, and an individual assessment.
We review benefits, risks, and alternatives with you. Follow the care team’s individual eating, drinking, medication, and recovery instructions.
Sports Guards & Night Guards
A properly fitted sports mouthguard helps protect teeth during activities with a risk of contact or falls. For teens who grind their teeth, Dr. Nik can assess wear, symptoms, and the developing bite before discussing a night guard. Each guard should fit its specific purpose.
